D'une part vs. Premièrement: how to choose
Both can open an argument. D'une part normally sets up the paired expression d'autre part; premièrement introduces the first item in an open-ended numbered sequence.
The decision: Presenting two balanced sides? -> d'une part ... d'autre part. Numbering two or more points without that balance? -> premièrement, deuxièmement, etc.
